Fact Base has raised approximately $28.8 million in its Series D funding round.

Insight Partners led the round alongside new investors Artemis Ventures and MPower Partners.

The company will expand ZUMEN, strengthen overseas operations and develop new manufacturing software products.

Japanese manufacturing software company Fact Base has raised approximately $28.8 million in Series D funding. The financing combines newly issued shares with transfers of existing shares. Insight Partners led the round after previously backing the company during its Series C financing.

Artemis Ventures and MPower Partners joined as new investors. The investment supports Fact Base’s ambition to expand beyond Japan. The company develops ZUMEN, a cloud-based drawing management system for manufacturers.

Founded in September 2022, Fact Base focuses on small and medium-sized manufacturers. These businesses often rely on paper drawings and disconnected document management processes. ZUMEN brings drawings and related documents into one digital platform.

The company reported strong commercial growth over the past year. Revenue increased 2.3 times year-on-year. The number of companies adopting ZUMEN also grew 2.2 times. Its platform now operates across 14 countries, including Japan.

Manufacturing businesses depend on technical drawings throughout their operations. These documents connect designers, customers and production teams. However, many smaller manufacturers still manage drawings through paper-based processes.

This creates difficulties when storing, sharing and retrieving important information. It can also prevent businesses from using accumulated production data effectively. Fact Base aims to address these challenges through ZUMEN.

The platform centralises drawings and related documents in the cloud. This helps manufacturers simplify document management. It also creates a foundation for wider digital transformation across factory operations.

CEO Masataka Takeuchi said the company was built around challenges observed during visits to manufacturing sites. He believes technology can address persistent problems across Japanese manufacturing. The company intends to connect more workflows beyond drawing management.

Fact Base will use the funding to strengthen international hiring and sales operations. It also plans to accelerate ZUMEN’s technical development. Further investments will support new features and product improvements. The company’s mission remains focused on making manufacturing seamless.

The company will also explore business opportunities beyond its core platform. It plans to expand its product portfolio through new business development. Additional funding will strengthen administrative operations and governance structures.

Fact Base currently operates five domestic locations and 11 overseas locations. Its international expansion has created demand for broader recruitment. The company plans to hire across engineering, sales and customer success. Its next stage will combine product development with international expansion.

These investments will help establish an organisational foundation for future growth. The company is also preparing for a potential initial public offering. Its stated ambition is to become indispensable to manufacturers worldwide. Fact Base aims to build on its Japanese manufacturing expertise.
